Fuel Additive and its Importance
Fuel additives are basically used for making the engine run smoothly and making the fuel consumption efficient. Fuel additives include properties like anti oxidants, corrosion inhibitors, metal deactivators, lubricity enhancer, cold flow enhancers and middle distillate additive. Each of these properties acts accordingly to help running of the automobile smoothly.
Anti oxidants of the fuel additive helps in extending the induction period and prevent the gum formation within the engine. The corrosion inhibitors help in preventing corrosion during the pipeline transferring and storage. The cold flow improver helps in enhancing the performance targets as well as preventing the problems caused due to lowering of temperature. The metal deactivator enhances the stability and overall performance of the jet fuel. The lubricity enhancer helps in improving the fuel lubricity performance. The middle distillate additive helps in the enhancement of fuel stability.
The diesel fuel additives helps to keep the engines keep clean. Diesel is a complex fuel and the most amazing thing about the diesel is that it changes its chemical structure after it leaves the processing refinery and till it reaches the gas station and then till it gets pumped into the automobile. Some of the diesel fuel additive which is available includes ultra low sulfur diesel which gives fantastic lubricity. It offers the engine the maximum lubricity. Another product which helps to keeps the engine clean is loaded with chemicals like detergency, cetane and lubricity. This helps to keep the engine in good condition and provide the optimum performance of the automobile.
